Thing Tracking # 9
Ok for this thing I'm supposed to blog about anything technology related. I guess i'll just talk about Flikr. I like it, i think i might actually use it. I think it might be fun for my friends/family to go to my flikr page and see the new pictures of E (Ethan, who just turned 2 last week). The only negative thing i have to say is that at least for purposes here, meaning bcltlc2.0, howmany email accounts do i really need? I signed up for gmail so i could use blogger. then i create an account on bloglines (which by the way i haven't checked in WEEKS) then i need a yahoo account for flikr. I can barely keep up with my work email and home email. Oh well, still I'm having fun now that I have time to catch up on my 23 things. Which as of this posting I am officially caught up!

Wiki Wiki, fast fast I'm done with thing #17. Guess what that means I actually completed a week on time. YEAH, I'm finally eligible for a prize...hope its a good one.
Thing Tracking #16
Wikis, I have nothing against wikis. I think they can be a great resource. But as i can see from the "Library Success:best practices" wiki some people just have to go and cause trouble. I also read a while ago about some problems with people posting false info on wikipedia. A good resource if used with caution.

Rollyo! well I had put this one off from last week figuring it waould take too long but it was very fast and easy to make my own genealogy rollyo. I'm not sure if i'll get into it but it was pretty easy.

Thing Tracking #12
I read "away from Icebergs" by Rick Anderson. I think he makes a valid pont however I don't think Librarys will or should move away completely from print collections. He calls them the "Just incase" collection. While some things are better electronically, like medical info. Somethings are better in print. SLower learners like me need to take home a book and read at leasure, most likely exceeding my renewal limit because I still haven't finished the book

Thing Tracking #11
So assignmnet 11 is to write a post about anything and TAG it. So I guess i will blog about my favorite hobby. Genealogy. It started when I was little and wanted to know where i was really from (perhaps so I could move back there or something) But it turns out my family has been here so long that I really am from here. 300 some odd years
Thing Tracking #10
Ok, i'm a little behind on my things, hopefully i will catch up soon. So I checked out the del.ic.io.us tutorial(or where ever those dots go). Looks interesting, i may make my own account. I think that it would be a useful tool on the reference desk computers. Everyone saves things to the favorites and it gets so junked up. Especially when more than one person saves the same site but renames it. Think i'll try to get my co workers on to the site.
